Golden Eagles Drop 4 Over the Weekend

The Golden Eagles battled with Audubon on Friday night losing 41-27. On Saturday, Seneca lost to Delran, Washington Township, and Cherry Hill East. Quinn Ruble went 4-0 over the weekend with 4 pins. Also, rookie 220 pounder MacPherson recorded two pins on Saturday. Next match is on Wednesday against Camden Catholic.

Golden Eagles Takedown Camden 61-9

Seneca had a strong showing on Wednesday night. One highlight of the match was Jimmy Glass's come from behind win at 195. Jimmy scored a takedown with 10 seconds remaining on the clock to secure a 4-3 victory. The Golden Eagles return to action on Friday at home versus Audubon at 7 pm. On Saturday, Seneca will wrestle Delran at 9 am, Washington Township at 10:30 am, and Cherry Hill East at noon at Washington Township High School. Here is the boxscore from last night:

Seneca goes 1-1 over the weekend

The Golden Eagles beat Mainland 35-33 and lost to Woodstown 40-19 on Saturday. In the Mainland match, Seneca came from behind to win via a pin by Kyle Umbehauer in the last match. Against Woodstown, Vinnie Saluga, Geoff Lake, Kyle Umbehauer, and Ricky Robbins all came out victorious. Congrats to Ricky Robbins and Kyle Umbehauer on going 2-0 on the day. The Golden Eagles return to the mat on Wednesday night against Camden High School.

Hunterdon Cenral Tournament Results

Seneca Wrestling had a few stand out performances on the mats yesterday at Hunterdon Central High School. Steve Saiia (195) and Tim Will (285) each earned 3rd place finishes in the weight classes. Niles Murphy (160) and Quinn Ruble (170) both finish 5th as well. On the JV level, Seneca's first year 220 pounder, Dan McPherson, lost a hard fought battle in the finals to finish 2nd. Next up for the Golden Eagles is a quad at Mainland High School on January 5th. The teams in attendance will be Mainland, Holy Spirit, and Woodstown.

Seneca loses close one to Lenape

The Golden Eagles lost to Lenape on Saturday 34-33. Highlights from the match were pins by Steve Saiia, Ricky Robbins, and Quinn Ruble. Also, Brandyn Bush won an overtime thriller against Lenape's state qualifier from last season, Austin Wright. Seneca looks to get back on the winning track on Friday Dec. 29 at the Hunterdon Central Tournament.

Golden Eagles Beat Bishop Eustace 72-12

The Seneca Wrestling Team won their first home dual meet of the season on Wednesday. Kyle Umbehauer, Niles Murphy, Ricky Robbins, Isaac Padilla, and Geoff Lake all had pins for the Golden Eagles. A special thanks to all the youth wrestlers and the Seneca Cheerleading team for coming to support our wrestlers. Next match is 10 a.m. on Saturday at Lenape.

The Season Has Begun!

The Golden Eagles opened the 2012-2013 season on Saturday. Congrats to Steve Saiia for his first place finish at the Nottingham Tournament. Brandyn Bush (3rd) and Ricky Robbins (3rd) were placewinners at the tournament as well. At the Wildwood JV tournament, Aiden McDaniel placed 2nd and Vince Altimari placed 3rd. Marion Tanzosh also competed this weekend at the greatest arena in the world, Madison Square Garden. She placed 2nd in her weight class. Seneca Wrestling competes next against Bishop Eustace on 12/19 at 6 pm.
