Hunterdon Cenral Tournament Results

Seneca Wrestling had a few stand out performances on the mats yesterday at Hunterdon Central High School.  Steve Saiia (195) and Tim Will (285) each earned 3rd place finishes in the weight classes.  Niles Murphy (160) and Quinn Ruble (170) both finish 5th as well.  On the JV level, Seneca's first year 220 pounder, Dan McPherson, lost a hard fought battle in the finals to finish 2nd.  Next up for the Golden Eagles is a quad at Mainland High School on January 5th.  The teams in attendance will be Mainland, Holy Spirit, and Woodstown.

Seneca loses close one to Lenape

The Golden Eagles lost to Lenape on Saturday 34-33.  Highlights from the match were pins by Steve Saiia, Ricky Robbins, and Quinn Ruble.  Also, Brandyn Bush won an overtime thriller against Lenape's state qualifier from last season, Austin Wright.  Seneca looks to get back on the winning track on Friday Dec. 29 at the Hunterdon Central Tournament.

Golden Eagles Beat Bishop Eustace 72-12

The Seneca Wrestling Team won their first home dual meet of the season on Wednesday.  Kyle Umbehauer, Niles Murphy, Ricky Robbins, Isaac Padilla, and Geoff Lake all had pins for the Golden Eagles.  A special thanks to all the youth wrestlers and the Seneca Cheerleading team for coming to support our wrestlers.  Next match is 10 a.m. on Saturday at Lenape.

The Season Has Begun!

The Golden Eagles opened the 2012-2013 season on Saturday.  Congrats to Steve Saiia for his first place finish at the Nottingham Tournament.  Brandyn Bush (3rd) and Ricky Robbins (3rd) were placewinners at the tournament as well.  At the Wildwood JV tournament, Aiden McDaniel placed 2nd and Vince Altimari placed 3rd.  Marion Tanzosh also competed this weekend at the greatest arena in the world, Madison Square Garden.  She placed 2nd in her weight class.  Seneca Wrestling competes next against Bishop Eustace on 12/19 at 6 pm.

2011 - 2012 was another great season for Seneca High School Wrestling. Seneca had wrestlers in Districts, Regions and States. They had the longest streak of wins in the team's history, producing winners and placers in the Nottingham tournament also. For the first time since the team began entering the event, Seneca had two champions at the prestigious Hunterdon Central Invitational Wrestling tournament. Seneca also made the play-offs again this season. The Seneca Wrestling Parents Association was an incredible success this year as well.

Thank you wrestlers and coaches! It's been an honor and a pleasure. Good luck in the future to the Seniors who will be missed by all.

Parents Association Event a Great Success!

The Seneca Wrestling Parents Association Annual Banquet was a great success. Many baskets were won and much funds were raised by the event. Thanks to all who helped! Especially the O'Neill's. Thanks to all who attended as well.

Seneca Wrestling Community Service Project!

With the help of Ginny Simpkins, the Seneca Wrestling program has been participating in a community service project this winter. We have been collecting winter coats, hats, scarves, gloves, and hoodies for people in need. Through a local church, we got in contact with "The Christian Caring Center" in Pemberton, NJ. This organization provides necessities for people in need in our area. On Monday, January 16th, we made our first delivery of about 100 articles of winter clothing to the center. It was a huge success! We will be making another delivery sometime in February, so we are still collecting winter hats, gloves, scarves, hoodies, and coats! Below are some pictures from Monday...
