This move is a combination of a fireman's carry and the jap whizzer (seio-nage, or japanese arm throw) with a russian tie set up. It's a good suprise move, especially if you've been using the russian tie to set up other takedowns first.

Single Leg to Hip Toss
This hip toss from a countered single leg is a great move to keep in a wrestler's arsenal.
Whizzer step over from Kolat
Another match saving, crowd pleasing move. Only in practice until you get it!
Judo Throws for Upper Weights
This basic judo throw can be applicable in wrestling, and very effective for upper weight classes. The wrestling headlock takedown is closely related to this hip toss. Of course there is no Gi in wrestling, but the principles and body positioning are similar. Take note of the foot sweep to set up this move. Another great desperation match winner.
Another slick whizzer counter.
This video teaches a really nice counter to a low single leg attack. Make sure you try any new moves you learn in practice BEFORE you try them in a match. Pulling a slick move like this out of your hat in a match can be a crowd pleaser, but should normally be used only in desperation.
Whizzer to a 5 point throw...
This is a basic whizzer into a pin countering a single leg attack. As you will note, this is taught at an MMA school which shows how valid wrestling is as the original martial art.

Granby Highlights Video
Take a peek at this video on how effective the Granby roll can be. It is similar to the Sit-Out/Turn-In/Peterson yet more difficult to stop for a match changing 5 points and maybe a pin! Any Seneca wrestlers who are interested, email the webmaster for the instructional links & camp info...
Happy New Year!
